Blogging from my mobile
Posted by mobile phone:
I just installed a plugin that allows me to update my blog using my phone. I installed it, activated it, and within two minutes this post was up. It’s pretty simple and very easy to use. It’s going to come in very handy as well, since I don’t need to be around a computer to update my blog. In relation to interface, pretty much everything has changed. You only get the basics: Post Title, Post content, Upload file and a Publish button. This is understandable however, as it’s a mobile so extras shouldn’t be expected. To be concise, it does the job. It’s just what you need when you’re on the go and you need to upload a quick post.
If you’re looking for something similar to what you get when using a computer, try logging into Wordpress (of which ever blog you use) on your mobile using your username and password. This will provide you with the normal contents you’re used to. You might find this useful at times since you have all the usual tools, and in return, more control over your post.

I just found something new that I’m going to find hard living without. That my friend, is Opera. Simply fantastic. I know it’s been around for a while, I know it’s well established, but I just found out about it and I wish it hadn’t taken me so long.
I’ve always been a big fan of Firefox; fast, cool plugins, easy to personalise and gives a better experience when surfing the web. It was a much-needed upgrade from Explorer! So after finding a browser that did it for me I didn’t really see the need to go around installing only to uninstall.
Now it seems I’m about to leave Firefox :(. Sad but it’s true. After I installed Opera on my Mac and double clicked on that O icon I was hooked. The interface was amazing (and that they say is the most important thing, ‘to the user the interface is the system’) and the details they provided there and then just told me everything I needed to know. Concise, just the way I like it.
Widget, games, plug-ins, notes, loads of customisation, shortcuts, you name it, Opera has got it. I felt like I’d found a hidden jewel, which made using it so much more pleasurable (secretively mine :)).
The only thing I think needs improving is the video quality. I tried watching a few videos from BBC iplayer but had to switch over to Firefox. Not only that, but I was viewing my personal wiki earlier on today and I couldn’t view certain things in Opera (again I had to switch over to Firefox). So I don’t think I’m going to be leaving my lovely Firefox just yet. Opera is well worth downloading though!
